I, like everyone else in the galaxy, love Star Wars. There's just something so uplifting and universal about the film franchise. I've loved these films for as long as I can remember, and the new installment followed suit and marched straight into my heart. I really enjoyed The Force Awakens and whilst feeling crafty, I decided to mix my love of knitting and Star Wars together.

I've got a handful of things going on this week that should keep me pretty busy; an audition on Tuesday, covering two classes on Wednesday, teaching my three classes on Thursday, covering reception at the studio and a fundraiser on Saturday, and then a fundraising walk on Sunday morning. Busy, busy!

I tend to be a person who has expensive taste. This causes me some problems when I pull my head out of the online window shopping clouds, and check my bank account and my current student loan statements. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of a big bargain.
As a girl who loves sparkle and shine, I love to accessorize with jewelry. Trendy jewelry is fun and statement jewelry definitely packs a punch, but spending a large amount on pieces I expect will go out of style within the next year or so is not a wise investment. I stumbled on a website that is now a feature in my shopping bookmark; Shop Miss A.
Anyway – not too busy of a week for me, but I'm figuring out how to better space out my To-Do List and weekly events. Now my weeks are starting to better fill out my pages. This week I did a pink, black, and grey Totoro theme.

There's something about a planner that makes me feel settled. I think it might be the idea that scheduling the week gives me some control over what's ahead (an illusion, I know, but it helps ease my mind). Anyway, over the past couple of months I've gotten into the idea of "glam planning" and I really think it's a fun way to not only organize the upcoming week, but also a nice creative outlet. I've always been an artsy, crafty type person so sticking down post it notes and washi tape is a quick and simple way to release some creative energy while getting something done.
With that sort of unnecessary explanation out of the way, I've decided that I'd like to share my weekly spreads here on my blog. I know I'm not the most glamorous of glam planners, but everyone starts somewhere, so maybe my spreads will become more and more glitzed out as the weeks go by.
This week I decided on a Frenchy grapefruit and blue theme.

I'll never forget the feeling I had the very first time I truly loved a book. J.K. Rowling changed my whole world when I started reading the Harry Potter books in grade three. I was totally sucked into the characters and the expansive world, as well as the page turning plot. I'd never been so invested in a group of characters in my life; but more than just making me love Potter, Rowling made me love reading.
At the time I began the series books 1-4 were available, but once I finished those stories I was forced to wait. That anticipation killed me and I itched to have a book in my hands, which is why I am so thankful for this series. Had I not hungered for more, I would have never picked up other books and branched towards other series. I especially loved Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events books.

There's a lot to be said about relationships where the conversations just flows on and on effortlessly. With some of my very best friends I find that we can talk endlessly about anything and everything. I wouldn't trade any of those relationships for anything, but what I never really took the time to appreciate a different type of relationship; a relationship that thrives on quiet.
In a lot of ways, my little brother and I are very similar. We enjoy a lot of the same books, movies, and television shows as well as certain hobbies and topics of thought and conversation. Our greatest similarity though has to be our enjoyment of quiet. We're definitely both people who like being plugged in to our varying devices, but often being plugged in can make us seem removed.

It's a truly unique feeling, the idea of starting over. It's quite a liberating sensation when you allow yourself to make the most of yourself and the time you've got. I've already posted what my big resolutions are for 2015, and you can read all about them here, but I think it's also important to create little goals or ideas as you go along. Life is crazy and if you can't roll with the punches then you're going to be left in the dust. Please excuse the clichés, but it's true.
