And Since We've No Place to Go...

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! Not that I've really done all that much just yet, but January has been lovely so far. To make matters even better (in my opinion since I wasn't headed anywhere today) it snowed all yesterday afternoon. There's something about snow at the start of a new year that I just love. The crisp, cool air and the cold weather feels like a fresh start. There's a sense of erasure in snowfall in January, the idea that you can take this new year do whatever you want with it. This blank canvas is yours to paint with you memories and adventures as well as your mistakes and missteps.

It's a truly unique feeling, the idea of starting over. It's quite a liberating sensation when you allow yourself to make the most of yourself and the time you've got. I've already posted what my big resolutions are for 2015, and you can read all about them here, but I think it's also important to create little goals or ideas as you go along. Life is crazy and if you can't roll with the punches then you're going to be left in the dust. Please excuse the clichés, but it's true.

Top Marsala Beauty Picks

I have been so excited to write about Pantone's pick for 2015's color of the year, especially since Marsala is so wearable! I loved last year's Wild Orchid, but it wasn't exactly wearable. Marsala just begs to worn in all senses, both beauty and fashion.

So looking into beauty, I've picked some lip products, eye shadows, and nail polishes that I think are great matches for 2015's biggest color; Marsala.

Resolutions for 2015

Hello everyone and happy new year! I can't believe that it's 2015! I'm still stuck in that funky way of thinking that ten years ago was 1990, when it was really 2005. That feels crazy to me. But anyway, I love the new year. I know it's cliché but the new year just feels like a fresh start, a chance to make moves towards goals and dreams I've been putting off.

Normally I come up with a resolution or two and forget about it after a couple of weeks, but not this year! This year I've come up with seven resolutions for 2015 and I plan to stick to them. I wrote them down and pasted them into my Smash Book (which will probably get a post of it's own in due time) in order to keep them ever present in my life. I have a really good feeling about 2015, and I plan to make sure it goes the way I'd like it to.
